Baseball Recap: Shelby County Gets the Win

While Shelby County's victory against Altamont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Knights 4-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ryan Sipes looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shelby County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Matherson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Shelby County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-12. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Altamont, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 16-5 record.

As of now, neither Shelby County nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
