Softball Recap: Hug Hawks vs. Sparks Railroaders
Hug was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Sparks Railroaders, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Railroaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 on April 2nd.
Hug saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frida Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Victoria Oppmann also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Hug's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Sparks, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
While Hug had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
