            Softball Recap: Pekin Dragons vs. Morton Potters        
        
		
        
        
            Pekin had to endure  a  four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with  a   6-2  victory over the Morton Potters  on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  19-4  back in April.

 Zoe Lindahl made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple and one  RBI. That  triple was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lily Towery, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  two  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Zoe Liedtke also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
The  win  got Pekin back to even at 10-10. As for Morton,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-18.
 Pekin and Morton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Dragons will  square off against  Metamora  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  disadvantage  (128 vs. 15). Meanwhile,  Morton (ranked 314th) will meet Williamsville (ranked 119th)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
