After five lead changes,
Canyon del Oro (Tucson, Ariz.) took the lead for good when
Robert Padilla ran for a touchdown with 5:00 to go in the third quarter and held on to beat
Catalina Foothills (Tucson, Ariz.) 37-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Isaac Chacon touchdown run, the Falcons went into halftime with a 21-17 lead. The Dorados scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Padilla that came in the third quarter.
Chacon played well for Canyon del Oro in the victory. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and kicked one field goal. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, CO came away with a 27-11 victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Dorados, which lost to Salpointe Catholic last week, 38-7.
Canyon del Oro (2-5) goes up against Tucson in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Catalina Foothills (0-7) locks horns with Mountain View in a II Section II game.
