The Independence 76ers lost against the Africentric Early College Nubians back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Independence was dealt a 86-9 loss at the hands of the Nubians.

Africentric Early College's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shaunie Little, who scored ten points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae?veyonna Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Africentric Early College, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Independence is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Wolverines at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Dunbar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Africentric Early College, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Westerville South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
