Softball Recap: Bartram Trail's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Bartram Trail was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Beachside last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Palatka Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Rommeney Patrey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hailey Allen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Joslyn Goebeler was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Bartram Trail's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Palatka, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartram Trail will head out to face off against Buchholz at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
