Baseball Game Recap: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. Westchester Country Day Wildcats

Wesleyan Christian Academy won against Greensboro Day School last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Wesleyan Christian Academy didn't even let the Westchester Country Day Wildcats on the board, marking Wesleyan Christian Academy's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Sam Cozart tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Wesleyan Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Nick Papciak was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Thompson Holloway also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Wesleyan Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westchester Country Day only posted a batting average of .118.

Wesleyan Christian Academy picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Westchester Country Day, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wesleyan Christian Academy will host Calvary Day School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Day School's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Wesleyan Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Westchester Country Day, they will welcome Forsyth Home Educators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forsyth Home Educators will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Westchester Country Day surely won't give up without a fight.
