Baseball Recap: Norristown Starts Season with Victory Against Reading

Norristown took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Reading Red KNights, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 4, 2024.

Chase Logan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Logan wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt Leary, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norristown will host Coatesville at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reading, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against William Penn at 12:00 p.m.
