Coronado is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Carrollwood Day. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Patriots. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Coronado might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Carrollwood Day: every set was decided by exactly two points. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23.

RACHEL PURSER paced Coronado's offense, picking up ten kills. PURSER got some help from TRU HALVORSEN and her 22 assists. Finally, PURSER was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Carrollwood Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Coronado will venture away from home to challenge Bishop Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carrollwood Day, they will welcome Sunlake at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
