Football Recap: Pine Tree Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Pine Tree, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Palestine Wildcats on Friday as they made off with a 43-21 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Wildcats are ranked 751st).

Pine Tree pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points over those games. As for Palestine, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Pine Tree will challenge Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Palestine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
