Soccer Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt vs. Palmyra

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders will square off against the Palmyra Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Wednesday, Bishop McDevitt didn't have quite enough to beat Lower Dauphin and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Bishop McDevitt in their meetings with Lower Dauphin: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Palmyra's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lower Dauphin on Monday. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Lower Dauphin are ranked 74th).

Bishop McDevitt now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Bishop McDevitt was able to grind out a solid win over Palmyra when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
