Volleyball Recap: Concord Starts Season with Win Against Central Cabarrus

Concord gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Central Cabarrus Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Spiders have posted against the Vikings since September 19, 2022.

One reason for the win was Concord's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-16.

Lily Hermans paced Concord's offense, picking up seven kills. Hermans got some help from Adeline Fulton and her 14 assists. Hermans was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Concord will challenge Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Cabarrus, they will head out on the road to take on North Mecklenburg at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
