Football Recap: Tennessee Heat Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lancaster Christian Academy last Saturday, Tennessee Heat came back down to earth. Tennessee Heat took a 30-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the CSTHEA Patriots on Friday. Despite 72 more yards than CSTHEA, Tennessee Heat couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Tennessee Heat still got an impressive performance from Levi Ashburn, who threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns. Ashburn has become a key player for Tennessee Heat: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Pierse Jackson had a dynamite game For CSTHEA., rushing for 106 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 75 yards.

Tennessee Heat has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. CSTHEA's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Tennessee Heat will face off against TN T at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Ashburn and Ethan Musser. As for CSTHEA, they will take on Freedom C at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them.
