Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. Metro Tech Knights

Fairfax is a perfect 10-0 against Metro Tech since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Fairfax will host Metro Tech at 3:45 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Fairfax turned things around against Sierra Linda on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 20-3 victory. The Stampede's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Daniel Alaniz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Balderas, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Fairfax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Metro Tech got themselves on the board against Central on Monday, but Central never followed suit. They blew past the Bobcats 18-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Fairfax's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Metro Tech, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
