Volleyball Recap: Sunshine S Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Sunshine S kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Evangel Christian Lightning, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-2, 25-3.

Evangel Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Carlisle out in front who had 12 aces. Those 12 aces gave Carlisle a new career-high. Makayla Cranford was another key player, hitting 100% for five kills and 22 aces and two blocks.

Evangel Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunshine S will face off against East Central HomeSchool on Thursday. As for Evangel Christian, they will square off against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
