Recap: St. Joseph Cadets vs. Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers

The St. Joseph Cadets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Bridgeport Central as St. Joseph made off with a 57-33 win. St. Joseph has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Bridgeport Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kai Clarke. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Clarke, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and four steals.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bridgeport Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will challenge Ludlowe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ludlowe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully St. Joseph likes a good challenge. Bridgeport Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bassick at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bassick is ranked 125th, while Bridgeport Central is ranked 108th).
