Basketball Recap: Russellville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Central last Thursday, Russellville came back down to earth. The Russellville Golden Tigers fell just short of the Brooks Lions by a score of 51-48 on Friday. The matchup marked the Golden Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Brooks, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Russellville and Brooks could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Russellville (ranked 80th) will meet Hillcrest (ranked tenth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Brooks will challenge Central at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025 down 97 places (143 vs. 46).
