Recap: Tahoma Bears vs. Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons
The Tahoma Bears pushed their score all the way to 68 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Pacifica Christian/Orange County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (64), Tahoma still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Tahoma lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dalton Brown. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Brown scored a full 35.3% of Tahoma's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Parker Plowman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
EJ Spillman was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six assists for Pacifica Christian/Orange County. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Tahoma's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pacifica Christian/Orange County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Tahoma won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Kennedy Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Tahoma likes a good challenge.
