Basketball Recap: Caney Takes a Loss

Caney saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against the Forestburg Longhorns, falling 56-36. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 128th in Oklahoma, while the Longhorns are ranked 1141st in Texas).

Caney's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Forestburg, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Caney will venture away from home to square off against Boswell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forestburg will take on Nocona in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight.
