Softball Recap: Northview Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Northview had won four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 7-7 to make it five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the North Putnam Cougars a 2-0 shutout. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Maggie Krause's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackie Pell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for North Putnam, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered against Northview since April 25, 2018.

On North Putnam's side, Tori Detro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.
