Softball Recap: Richwoods Comes Up Short

Richwoods managed to slip by Danville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights came up short against the Vikings on Saturday, falling 12-1. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Richwoods saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Day, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Richwoods has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Danville, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richwoods will square off against Midwest Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Danville, they will face off against St. Joseph-Ogden at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
