Basketball Game Preview: Arickaree Bison vs. Otis Bulldogs

Arickaree hasn't had much luck against Otis recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Arickaree Bison will square off against the Otis Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Arickaree is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Idalia on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Arickaree came up short against Idalia, falling 61-35. The Bison were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Arickaree's loss came about despite a quality game from Raeya Schrock, who posted 15 points and seven boards. That was a full 42.9% of Arickaree's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Hermes, who scored nine points.

Meanwhile, Otis had to suffer through a 63-31 loss at the hands of Prairie. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Otis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Arickaree, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Arickaree came up short against Otis when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 36-29. Can Arickaree avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
