Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant lost against Tyler back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers lost 64-42 to the Tyler Lions. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Lions are ranked 51st).

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Tyler, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-5.

The future could be bright for both Mt. Pleasant and Tyler: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Mt. Pleasant will try to hand Hallsville their seventh-straight loss when the two meet at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Tyler will try to hand Marshall their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
