Baseball Recap: Sneads' Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Sneads hadn't done well against Marianna recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Sneads had just enough and edged out Marianna 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted against the Bulldogs since April 28, 2022.

Sneads let Aaron Williams and Isaiah Perkins run wild. Williams scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Perkins scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Sneads is 4-1 when Perkins posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Gaines, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Sneads moved to 7-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Marianna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sneads will welcome Blountstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sneads' pitchers better be ready for this one: Blountstown has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Marianna, they will challenge Chipley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
