Basketball Recap: Shamrock Comes Up Short

Shamrock lost against McLean back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Shamrock Irish were dealt a 52-18 loss at the hands of the McLean Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 827th, while the Tigers are ranked 359th).

When it comes to explaining why Shamrock lost, don't look at Maci Owens. Despite the final result, she posted eight points.

Shamrock's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for McLean, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hedley the next time they take the court. Shamrock will host Hedley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while McLean will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
