Softball Recap: Perry County Central Comes Up Short

Perry County Central has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.71 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oldham County Colonels. The Commodores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mikayla Shepherd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Olivia Robinson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Perry County Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Oldham County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Perry County Central and Oldham County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Commodores will challenge Pikeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 164). Meanwhile, Oldham County (ranked tenth) will meet Holy Cross (ranked 50th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
