River Valley came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Wellston Golden Rockets 59-21. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Golden Rockets are ranked 639th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Wellston, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
