Recap: Fletcher Senators vs. Creekside Knights
The Fletcher Senators's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 victory over Creekside. The win was all the more spectacular given Fletcher's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Creekside is ranked 151st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fletcher to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryder Kay, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of McCarthy Crenshaw, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Creekside still got an impressive performance from Derek Rivers, who scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivers has scored all season. Ethan Tucker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Fletcher's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Creekside, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Fletcher will take on Mandarin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Creekside, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
