Baseball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Westlake Thunder

For the second straight game, Lone Peak will face off against Westlake. The Knights will welcome the Thunder at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lone Peak has three straight wins, Westlake has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lone Peak is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Westlake a 6-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Grady Slesk was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Slesk was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Boston Walkenhorst was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Lone Peak, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.
