Football Game Preview: King Academy Knights vs. Wardlaw Academy Patriots + How To Watch

King Academy is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to take on the Wardlaw Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in King Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, King Academy got the win against Laurens Academy by a conclusive 60-34. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

Joseph Morse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 375 yards and five TDs while picking up 17.0 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.

Morse was just one part of a punishing run game: King Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 366 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Wardlaw Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They and Richard Winn Academy were almost perfectly matched up, but the Patriots suffered a 35-34 loss. The Patriots have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

King Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Wardlaw Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went King Academy's way against Wardlaw Academy in their previous meeting back in August, as King Academy made off with a 44-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
