Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Northern Highlands' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Northern Highlands and Wayne Hills pushed the score to 14-13 the last time they played Wayne Hills, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Highlanders never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. This was payback for the Highlanders, who suffered a 14-13 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Northern Highlands is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne Hills, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

Northern Highlands wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Ridgefield Park on the 10th. As for Wayne Hills, they will be playing at home against Fair Lawn at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
