Basketball Recap: Westfield Skates Past Brocton with Ease

Westfield waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 87-42 win over the Brocton Bulldogs. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Westfield had a senior duo take command as Carson Swanson dropped a double-double with 39 points and 16 assists and Zach Maguire shot 5-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double with 27 points and 12 boards. The game was Swanson's 38th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Grant Beadle, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Westfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Brocton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfield will challenge Sherman at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brocton, they will face off against Frewsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
