Basketball Recap: Westlake Piles Up the Points Against Copper Hills

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westlake had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Copper Hills Grizzlies 83-55. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daxton Nelson, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Nelson a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Logan Batt also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Westlake's record now sits at 17-7. As for Copper Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Westlake will face off against Davis at 12:50 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Davis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games. Copper Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
