Basketball Game Preview: Jones Longhorns vs. Dale Pirates

The Jones Longhorns are taking a road trip to take on the Dale Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jones comes in on three and Dale on five.

Two weeks ago, Jones made easy work of Chandler and carried off a 51-27 win. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Lions are ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dale hadn't done well against Washington recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. Dale walked away with a 52-44 victory over Washington.

Jones pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Dale, their record now sits at 12-1.

Jones couldn't quite finish off Dale in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 52-49. Can Jones avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
