Basketball Recap: Three Rivers Christian Takes a Loss

Three Rivers Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Sound Christian Lions and fell 73-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 64-21 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Kona Resseau continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sound Christian, putting up 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Resseau a new career-high in steals (six). Moses Stiver was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 20 boards.

Three Rivers Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sound Christian, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Three Rivers Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Firm Foundation Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Sound Christian and Grace Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Sound Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.4 points per game this season.
