Basketball Recap: Waterloo West Takes a Loss

Waterloo West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 79-46 loss at the hands of the Iowa City Little Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Wahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Little Hawks are ranked 26th).

Waterloo West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Iowa City, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterloo West will take on Iowa City West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Iowa City West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Iowa City, they will venture away from home to take on Maquoketa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Maquoketa will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Iowa City surely won't give up without a fight.
