The Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders will challenge the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors on Thursday. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 26.

On Tuesday, Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy came up short against Christian Family Academy and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-10, 20-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Lake Lure Classical Academy made easy work of The Master's Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Raptors haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Lake Lure Classical Academy was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-16, 25-21.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy better focus on containing Rachael Rich and Ysabella Staley-Sandoval as the pair were huge in Lake Lure Classical Academy's win. Rich had eight aces, while Staley-Sandoval had six aces. That's the most aces Staley-Sandoval has posted since back in September of 2024.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
