Baseball Game Preview: Westport Wildcats vs. Wareham Vikings

The Westport Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Wareham Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westport will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Winchester, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Wildcats won by a run and slipped past the Red & Black 7-6.

Meanwhile, Wareham had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Atlantis with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Vikings' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Wareham's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Westport, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Westport couldn't quite finish off Wareham in their previous matchup last Monday and fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
