Football Game Preview: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. San Pedro Pirates

The Laguna Beach Breakers will face off against the San Pedro Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Beach will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, Laguna Beach strolled past El Dorado with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.

Laguna Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Stringham led the charge by picking up 131 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 131 receiving yards gave Stringham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Hurst, who threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns.

Laguna Beach didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited El Dorado to a completion percentage of just 42.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Stringham and Carlton Mousally, who each logged three passes deflected. Laguna Beach wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

Laguna Beach's defense didn't let Hudson Shaddow., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Tristan Andronesi was the leader with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Laguna Beach got some further help from Wyatt Bogdan: he forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, San Pedro played a tough game last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against El Modena, falling 34-14. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

San Pedro now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Laguna Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
