Softball Recap: Colfax's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Colfax can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the Foresthill Wildfires get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Colfax let Leiah Hicks and Kalli Amaral run wild. Hicks went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Amaral went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Hicks has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylie Busath, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Colfax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Colfax's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Foresthill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Colfax will be playing at home against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foresthill, they will head out to challenge Leroy Greene Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.86 runs per game on average), something the Wildfires will no doubt try to take advantage of.
