Football Recap: Hayli Mcilroy Key Part of Team Effort in Saints Win

Crean Lutheran won the last time they faced Westminster and things went their way on Monday too. The Saints came out on top against the Lions by a score of 19-11.

Crean Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayli McIlroy, who threw for 156 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 53 yards on only seven carries. McIlroy's passing game has become a key predictor of the Saints' success: the team is undefeated when her passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-4 otherwise. Rosa Nansen was McIlroy's top target, picking up 42 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Crean Lutheran's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Isabella Desantis with two sacks.

Crean Lutheran now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Westminster, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Crean Lutheran will take on Villa Park at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster, they will face off against Downey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
