The Highland Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Peyton Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Highland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Las Animas get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Huskies have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

John Bingley was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Highland got a big performance out of DJ Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Rogers has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Byron Berkheimer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Las Animas only posted an OBP of .292.
Meanwhile, Peyton entered their tilt with North Fork on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They came out on top against the Miners by a score of 11-6.
Like Highland, Peyton also got a great game from a two-way player: Zayden Ebbert. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Ebbert was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Love, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Liam Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Peyton, their record is now 20-1.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Highland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .505. However, it's not like Peyton struggles in that department as they've averaged .538. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
