Basketball Recap: Pine Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Pine had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Sumner Cowboys 53-17. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Cowboys are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pine's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.1 points over those games. As for Sumner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
