Football Game Preview: Saks Wildcats vs. Pennington Tigers

The Saks Wildcats will square off against the Pennington Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saks has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Pennington will come in with three straight victories.

It was a proper cat-fight when Saks challenged Central of Coosa County on Friday. The Wildcats took a blow against the Cougars, falling 46-19. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.

Meanwhile, Pennington made easy work of Cleveland on Friday and carried off a 40-19 win. Considering the Tigers have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Pennington's win came from a few key players Saks will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Connor Timmerman, who rushed for 130 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 179 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending two passes. Pennington's leading receiver Aidan McAlpin was Timmerman's top target yet again, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Saks' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Pennington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
