Baseball Recap: Toombs County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Toombs County's offense. They came up short against the Pierce County Bears on Friday, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Bears since April 17, 2023.

Toombs County's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Pierce County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Coming up, Toombs County will challenge Academy of Richmond County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pierce County, they will square off against Tattnall County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Tattnall County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
