Baseball Game Preview: Glencoe Crimson Tide vs. Century Jaguars

For the second straight game, Glencoe will face off against Century. The Crimson Tide will host the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Glencoe's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Century's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Glencoe is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Century just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 7-1 to the Jaguars. The contest marked the Crimson Tide's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

For Century's part, Diego Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Lopez a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Damien Elizarraras was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lucas Gardner, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Glencoe's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Century, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.
