Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Eagles vs. North Sevier Wolves

The American Leadership Academy Eagles will challenge the North Sevier Wolves at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. American Leadership Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully North Sevier likes a good challenge.

American Leadership Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Waterford 74-46. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

American Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tad Swarnes, who went 5-for-7 en route to 15 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Jackson, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Rowland Hall typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday North Sevier proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 45-40 victory over the Winged Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

American Leadership Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.2 points. As for North Sevier, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

American Leadership Academy and North Sevier were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, but American Leadership Academy came up empty-handed after a 39-38 loss. Can American Leadership Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
