Softball Recap: Agoura Wins Going Away Against Oak Park

Agoura won the last time they faced Oak Park and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Agoura Chargers blew past the Oak Park Eagles 12-1. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Chaden Chatelain made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last seven games. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Gomez, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordy Charash, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Agoura was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Agoura is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Oak Park now has a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Agoura is taking a road trip to take on Thousand Oaks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thousand Oaks is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Oak Park, they will welcome Royal at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
