Basketball Recap: Brighton Piles Up the Points Against Highland

Brighton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Highland Rams 67-24. The Bengals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brighton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Nielsen, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Stephens, who had 13 points.

Highland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Vada Foster, who scored five points, and Meredith Kimball, who earned six points. The dominant performance gave Kimball a new career-high in points.

Brighton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Highland, they dropped their record down to 0-19 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.

Brighton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-39 victory against Olympus on the 4th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-21 loss against Alta on the 4th.
