Basketball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

If Winona was riding high fresh off their 54-34 takedown of Quitman last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Winona Wildcats came up short against the Edgewood Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 65-39. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Edgewood, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Winona Wildcats challenge the Malakoff Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Edgewood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mineola at 6:45 p.m.
